Video Trailer: @CIPEglobal’s groundbreaking film, “Destructive Beast” on the corruption in #Yemen

CIPE‘s new groundbreaking film, Destructive Beast, exposes the economic and social costs of corruption in Yemen. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Khadija al Salami, the 43-minute documentary film captures the toll that abuse of power, neglect, and bribery have taken on economic growth and development in a country already on the brink of collapse. Destructive Beast emphasizes that combating corruption is not only about pursuing high-profile offenders, but rather developing a strategy to improve governance and accountability in all institutions. This video shows selections from the film.

The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) strengthens democracy around the globe through private enterprise and market-oriented reform. CIPE is one of the four core institutes of the National Endowment for Democracy. Since 1983, CIPE has worked with business leaders, policymakers, and journalists to build the civic institutions vital to a democratic society.
